IET Hong Kong Symposium 2022

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is holding a symposium at the Cordis Hong Kong.

The theme for the symposium is “Extreme Weather Adaptation – Managing Risk for a Resilient Future”.

The conference will bring in experts and seasoned speakers from the HKSAR Government, academia, public corporations and well-known organisations who are holding key roles in formulating and executing corporate strategies to share views and exchange ideas to plan for and mitigate risks due to extreme weather hits.

The event covers sessions on:

Binnies Hong Kong is proud to be supporting this event with Andy Chan speaking on “An Adaptive Framework for Guiding Response to Climate Change Impacts on Sewage Facilities in Hong Kong”. Andy is a Technical Director at Binnies Hong Kong, with professional experience spanning the fields of environmental, civil, and water engineering. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and master’s degree in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, Andy started his career in Houston specialising in flood modelling, drainage engineering and flood risk management. Andy continued his career in Hong Kong offering solutions to public and private clients in a variety of design and engineering studies in projects involving stormwater management and sewerage system design including a comprehensive climate change impact study of Hong Kong’s sewerage infrastructure. Andy recently played key roles in solid waste management consultancies aimed at building government solid waste management and waste-to-resources infrastructures.
