The Institute of Water Scottish Area Committee is holding the Scottish Area Annual Autumn Seminar at The University of Strathclyde Technology and Innovation Centre in Glasgow.

“Embracing Change – Creating Opportunities”, is the seminar theme, and delegates will hear from sector-leading experts with inspiring presentations and participation in panel sessions. 

The day covers sessions on:

Scott Aitken, Binnies UK Managing Director is chairing Session 3 ‘Transformation. ‘. Scott has over 30 years’ experience in the water, energy, environmental and infrastructure sectors and has been operating at board level within various European and global businesses for the last 25 years, leading and directing them in providing both professional consultancy and design and build services. Scott has held a number of joint venture and alliance board-level roles assisting in leading the delivery of large, complex capital investment programmes of over £1 billion turnover. He has provided asset management expertise for the creation and implementation of capital investment programmes, advisory services for PFI/PPP projects and for the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of assets. Scott has led the creation and implementation of key business strategies, including the Binnies digital water strategy, the innovation hub, the digital product and services business and the overall asset life cycle business service capability of Binnies UK.

Adam Johnson, Head of Operations and Maintenance Services Asset Management for Binnies UK is presenting within Session 4 ‘Collaboration – Making a difference’. Adam has 13 years’ experience in the water industry working for United Utilities in a variety of roles, primarily managing operational sites and teams in both wastewater and water. Adam also took up roles in incident management and led capital delivery programmes.  Adam joined Binnies in November 2021 to head up the operations and maintenance services team within the asset management part of the business, focusing on the teams growth and development to meet the challenges of the Water Industry now and in the future.
