The Coolgardie Goldfields Water Supply Scheme (1898–1930) stands as a monumental achievement in Australian industrial heritage. Commissioned by Binnie and Partners, the 1897 feasibility study paved the way for the ambitious water supply to Kalgoorlie’s gold mines, realised through a groundbreaking 760-millimetre-diameter steel pipeline stretching 566 kilometres from the dam.
More than a century later, Binnies has re-established its presence in Australia with offices in Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne. Our team is passionate about tackling the challenges around water security and asset resilience across Australia. We design solutions that maintain supply and enhance our current environment without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
We leverage over 125 years of experience in the water sector to optimise water and wastewater treatment and asset performance for clients across the utilities and resource sectors.
This includes leakage reduction, treatment plant upgrades, mining water management and working with contractors on design and construct solutions. We work for some of the largest water utilities, government agencies and industrial clients worldwide.
