Achieving excellence in asset management
Binnies is delighted that three of its employees were finalists at the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Excellence Awards 2022. The awards acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work done by asset management professionals, organisations and teams across the world. These awards are a showcase of best practice and a chance to celebrate success and share it with a wider network across the professional landscape. The event took place in London at the Hilton Bankside on 17 October 2022.
Two of our employees, Dean Beamish and Michael Niven, were finalists in the same category, the McKeown Award for Individual Achievement. Dean said, “I am pleased to have been recognised as a finalist for the IAM Individual Achievement Award, acknowledging my work with Binnies colleagues and the Environment Agency (EA), producing digital asset management plans for its flood and coastal risk management teams and the communities they serve.” Michael added, “I was delighted to make it as a finalist. The EA has been incredibly collaborative and receptive of the value framework and capital investment prioritisation process.” It is great to see two members of our strategic advisory services team attain this recognition.
Katherine McCarthy also achieved the accolade of finalist for the NxtGen Award. This award is for an individual newer to asset management (with less than five years’ experience in asset-management-focused roles) who has made an outstanding contribution to the implementation and development of asset management in any part of their organisation, and who demonstrates great potential for further asset management excellence. Katherine joined Binnies in March 2021 as a graduate asset management consultant and has already worked in the strategic advisory services team before rotating into the network services team, developing her knowledge and understanding. Katherine commented, “I was pleased to have been recognised as a finalist; I feel I have developed so much in my time at Binnies so far and have enjoyed working on a variety of projects and activities.”
“The quality of the nominations has been exceptional, highlighting pioneering achievements, outstanding international practice and great leadership in asset management,” an IAM spokesperson said. “There is much to be congratulated and we are pleased to commend their work through the IAM Asset Management Excellence Awards 2022.”
