amey–binnies appoints new chief operating officer
Scottish Water’s alliance partner amey–binnies is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Anderson as its new chief operating officer.
Richard joins the amey–binnies management board during the last year of the framework and after a period of huge success. He will be responsible for ensuring that the joint venture continues to deliver projects safely and to programme, but he will also focus on delivering an exit strategy that leaves a legacy of performance excellence for the next delivery vehicles to continue within SR21.
Richard brings a wealth of knowledge to the role, including director-level roles for Veolia and Thames Water, along with experience gained as delivery operations director for Binnies.
amey–binnies is an award-winning joint venture delivering Scottish Water’s SR15 wastewater infrastructure programme of capital works and provides expertise in the design and construction of civil engineering infrastructure.
Over the last six years, the partnership has delivered a £427 million sewer system investment programme and 500 projects, including the installation of new sewers, sewer repairs, storage tanks, overflow structures and pumping stations, ranging in value from £100,000 to £25 million.
Richard, who has lived in Scotland since 2003, has extensive experience of working within collaborative joint ventures and has developed many longstanding relationships with senior Scottish Water staff that he is keen to resume and continue to develop.
Expressing his excitement at taking on the new role, Richard said, “amey–binnies is delivering fantastic projects for Scottish Water and its customers, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the level of professionalism and commitment they continue to show delivering the SR15 programme in a safe and efficient manner. I am also looking forward to meeting all our amey–binnies people soon.”
