Binnies employees shortlisted for three Institute of Asset Management Excellence Awards

Binnies’ asset management team is excited to be attending the IAM UK Chapter Conference in London this week and is pleased to announce that three members of the team who made submissions for the Asset Management Excellence Awards 2021 have reached the final shortlist. 2021 saw a record number of nominations across the following three categories:

→ Corporate Transformation  – Binnies and Aarhus Vand Asset Management Systems

→ Sustainability & Climate Impact  – Transforming the Trent Valley interactive habitat mapping

→ Digital Innovator  – iDMS Dam Monitoring System

The Institute of Asset Management’s awards acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work done by asset management professionals and teams across the world that enables innovation and adaption within the field to meet tomorrow’s challenges. The virtual award ceremony will be during the IAM UK Chapter Conference.

Binnies’ award submissions highlight projects that showcase employees’ outstanding achievements and their ability to provide innovative solutions with quantifiable results, which is only possible with in-depth understanding of the subject matter.

During the conference, our Principal Asset Management Consultant Dean Beamish and Dale Gibbons from the UK Environment Agency (EA), will be showcasing our ongoing project to produce 11 digital and dynamic asset management plans for strategically important asset locations within Cumbria and Lancashire on which they have worked closely with the EA’s flood and coastal risk management team.

These plans actively link the EA’s strategic direction and objectives with a range of data for key decision-makers and specify the activities, resources and timescales required to sustain individual assets, flood cells and areas while capturing gaps in essential data and potential risks.

In 2022, we will be producing scaled-up asset management plans at a catchment level while providing carbon planning and whole-life costing metrics.

Tim Gadd, Head of Strategic Advisory Services, Binnies, said, “I am really looking forward to seeing the highly collaborative work on dynamic asset planning being aired to a wider audience. It is a huge shift away from traditional, static paper asset management plans. Also, I am really proud of the Binnies team for so many nominations in the Asset Management Excellence Awards.”
