Binnies opens new Birmingham city centre office
Binnies is proud to announce that it is opening a new office in Birmingham, UK. This follows a successful 2021 and reflects our ambition to grow and increase the impact of our innovative solutions on the nation’s infrastructure. This city-centre location in the heart of the Midlands not only means new and exciting career opportunities for all levels of water, environmental and engineering professionals but enables us to continue delivering success through ground-breaking projects in the area. In 2015, we were appointed to support the delivery of the Derby ‘Our City Our River’ initiative. On completion of the first phase of this scheme, we successfully reduced the flood risk to more than 800 properties, re-energised the riverside environment through the regeneration of derelict sites and improved confidence that further riverside developments will be resilient to the adverse effects of climate change.
Joining Binnies in our new Birmingham city-centre location also provides the opportunity to work and develop under our Regional Delivery Director Hannah Coogan. With almost 20 years’ experience in infrastructure delivery, Hannah has managed a vast portfolio of flood-risk and environmental management projects while continually striving for equality and diversity as the chair of the RSK Women’s Network.
“Opening an office in Birmingham is a fantastic opportunity to bring together the benefits of working for Binnies with the passion of water, environmental and civil engineering professionals in the Midlands who want to make a difference to their local environment,” observed Hannah. “The Midlands has a fascinating legacy of flood-risk and drainage infrastructure and opportunities to innovatively regenerate our riverside towns and city centres. We will be providing more nature-based solutions and delivering what local communities want and need their local places to be.
“Because of the new office opening, we are looking for several new recruits. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new team, support us to grow our business and work with our clients to support local communities in becoming more resilient to flooding. I am interested in speaking to professionals at all stages of their careers and discussing how I can support them to develop and grow as part of a local and ENGAGED team.”
As well as joining a fast-paced, dynamic and youthful business, and working alongside our Midlands hub director, you will enrol in ENGAGED, our behaviour-based cultural programme that supports our vision to provide an Empowered, Non-judgemental, Genuine, Appreciative, Growing, Excelling and Diverse workplace. At Binnies, we aim to create a future of positive influence that we can look back on with pride, and we need you to help shape this vision.
