Binnies recognised for ESG leadership at NCE Awards

Binnies wins NCE ESG Consultant Award

Binnies is celebrating after its sustainability credentials were recognised at the 2026 New Civil Engineer Awards.

The business, part of RSK Group, was named ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Leader – Consultant of the year, due to its success embedding ESG principles across the business.

The judges stated they were impressed with Binnies’ asset carbon management tool, ACiT, and the ENGAGED behavioural framework. The inclusion of employee representatives in the presentation demonstrated that ESG is genuinely embedded within the business. The judges said it was clear that this commitment is driven by strong leadership at the top of the organisation.

Binnies UK Managing Director Scott Aitken explained that Binnies introduced its first UK Social Value Impact Statement in 2025, providing an outcome-focused view of social value performance while recognising the people and communities behind the data. Supported by business-led social value mapping and reporting, the approach has strengthened engagement, accountability and pride in our collective impact, aligned with Binnies’ behavioural culture programme, ENGAGED.

He said: “Environmental and social performance is embedded through structured governance and early design decision-making. Following PAS 2080 accreditation, we launched our carbon training programme and Carbon Champions network, guided by our Net Zero Steering Group. In 2025, Binnies also became a Living Wage employer and was recognised by the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) for supporting delivery of the UK’s new Level 4 Asset Management Apprenticeship.

The gala ceremony was attended by more than 500 industry leaders, with prestigious accolades given to individuals and businesses delivering exceptional consultancy, contracting, and ESG leadership across the sector.
