Celebrating the professional growth of our employees!
A number of individuals have recently achieved chartered or fellowship status for relevant institutions and we are delighted to share with you the successes of our employees as they progress on their career journeys. The last 18 months have been very challenging, and the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the pandemic have required everyone to adapt to changing requirements and deadlines. These people have shown remarkable resilience and we would like to congratulate them all.
Ben Studham and Michael Calder, both now Senior Civil Engineers, have chartered with the Institution of Civil Engineers. Their success is demonstrative of their commitment to continuous improvement and a desire to excel.
Two employees have progressed with the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology. Prasad Gunawardena, Head of Maritime and Coastal Maritime Consultancy Services, became a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology and Gemma Sanassy, Senior Environmental Scientist, is now a Chartered Marine Scientist. Gemma also gained the role of Chartered Scientist from the Science Council.
Kimberley Hague, Environmental Scientist, achieved Practitioner level membership with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and qualified as a Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP). This demonstrates a great commitment to sustainability and means she is now another step closer to becoming a fully Chartered Environmentalist.
Linley Hastewell, Principal Water Specialist and Geomorphologist, has achieved Chartered Geomorphologist status and has become a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS). He had been working towards chartership with the RGS before joining Binnies, drawing upon his research background and experience in academia to achieve the necessary continuing professional development (CPD) requirements. His new role at Binnies has enabled him to expand upon his existing knowledge of coastal geomorphology to develop additional skills and experience in the fluvial domain, all of which is adding to and enhancing his professional development.
Dimitrios Moulas became chartered with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and lastly, Colin Hyland has achieved Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
A huge “well done” to everyone for their hard work in achieving these fantastic professional qualifications. At Binnies, our culture is to help our people grow in line with our ‘engaged’ behaviours by encouraging and supporting all our employees to work towards chartership with our learning and development processes in place to fully support each employee’s journey.
At Binnies, we create new possibilities for humanity through our innovative approach to delivery. Backed by a culture that has stayed true since our founding over 100 years ago, Binnies develops intelligent water and environmental solutions using a whole lifecycle approach to deliver functional infrastructure and lasting environmental and social legacies. We strive to continue to elevate the quality of life for our local communities today and for generations to come.
Binnies is an RSK Group Company and was formerly part of Black & Veatch.
