British Diversity Awards 2024

Binnies is proud to share in the success of the RSK Group as four of its employee networks have made the final shortlist in three categories at the 2024 British Diversity Awards. The nominees are in the running for three awards, with the ceremony due to take place on 20 March this year.

The annual prizegiving aims to “promote the values of equality, diversity and inclusion by rewarding those individuals, organisations and unsung heroes who help to make the world and the workplace a better place for others”.

The successful networks that earned their place on the awards shortlist include:

  • the RSK Women’s network – nominated for the Outstanding Women’s Network of the Year award
  • the RSK with Unity, RSK Pride, RSK Neurodiversity Network and RSK Women’s Network – nominated for the Outstanding Employee Network of the Year award
  • the RSK Neurodiversity Network – nominated for the Outstanding Ability Network of the Year award.

Binnies UK is proud that both the Women’s and the RSK with Unity networks are chaired by Binnies UK employees. Hannah Coogan has been the chair of the Women’s Network since January 2022 and has been instrumental in its growth. A highlight was the event held in Binnies’ Chester office to mark International Women in Engineering Day, featuring presentations from key women from the Binnies business.

Jagtar Chonkaria is the chair of RSK with Unity. Since its creation, the network has gone from strength to strength and currently has over 200 members and allies. As it continues to widen its global reach, it acknowledges regional differences in demographics and legislation; this enables members and allies to maintain both common goals and those specific to their regions.

As part of Binnies’ celebrations for Black History Month, RSK with Unity organised a ‘Bring an International Dish to Work Day’ at the Binnies Office in Redhill. This included fantastic dishes from all over the world.

Employee networks driving positive change

RSK commented: “Being shortlisted at the 2024 British Diversity Awards is a true honour. The collective efforts of our employee networks not only reflect our commitment to EDI but also highlight the transformative impact that dedicated initiatives can have within the organisation. As we celebrate these achievements and look forward to future campaigns, it is evident that our employee networks are driving positive change and fostering an environment where every individual thrives. It is great to be shortlisted alongside so many inspirational networks.”

Binnies’ Hannah Coogan and Jagtar Chonkaria are representing their networks at the event and looking forward to joining the other nominees in celebration and recognition.
