Project overview
The Sha Tau Kok Sewage Treatment Works serves Sha Tau Kok town in the northern New Territories, Hong Kong, neighbouring mainland China. The facility was originally commissioned in 1989 and provides secondary level treatment to sewage collected from the township. To cope with the continual development of the area, the Sha Tau Kok Sewage Treatment Works is undergoing expansion to increase the capacity from 1,660 to 5,000 m³/d and provide the option to facilitate a further increase to 10,000 m³/d.
Our role
Engineering consultant to the Drainage Services Department, the department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government responsible for drainage and sewerage services, for the expansion of the Sha Tau Kok Sewage Treatment Works and delivering services ranging from planning, design and tendering through to construction supervision.
