GIS and Geospatial Analysis

Everything has a location somewhere in the world, whether it is a water utility pump station, a bat roost within an ancient woodland or a rail user’s journey. Understanding and harnessing location in order to combine seemingly disparate data unlocks a deeper understanding and better decision-making.

Binnies delivers geographical information systems (GIS), spatial data management, visualisation and geospatial analytics for our clients and in-house project teams. In doing so, we help them maximise their understanding of the world around us and consider wider challenges, such as sustainability and climate change, in all that we do.

Our GIS team uses industry-standard applications, such as the ESRI and FME platforms, to deliver bespoke solutions and automation for repeatable activities and help bring geospatial data to life. We offer everything from map production and desktop analysis tools through to multi-user online platforms and mobile data capture solutions. More details on several of these can be found on Binnies’ ECO-X Digital Products page.

GIS and geospatial analytics enable complex data sets to be analysed quicker and in more depth, thus resulting in a more reliable solution delivered to time and on budget. Automating data analytics allows subject matter experts (SME) to focus their time on better outcomes for our clients and wider societal benefits.

Binnies GIS team specialises in just that: GIS. Several of our team hold cGeog(GIS) and BIM Professional status, thereby ensuring that all our solutions apply industry expertise, integrate with existing systems, and iterate as technology changes.

Team members collaborate with SMEs at our clients and in our project teams to establish requirements, develop solutions and deliver outputs that bring tangible benefits. Our approach often provides additional insight through automated analysis and intuitive, geographically based visualisation. Our experience from delivering these solutions for more than 20 years means our team has a wealth of cross-sector expertise and is able to redeploy best-practice and cutting-edge techniques for all our clients.
