Key Responsibilities

You will get the opportunity to work on a wide portfolio of projects, from nationally significant infrastructure projects to smaller scale river restoration. Our portfolio of work includes flood, coastal and maritime projects, water utilities, transport and renewable power.

You would be a key part of our national Environmental team and work with our ecologists, landscape architects and other specialists to drive the quality of our surveys and assessments across diverse projects including new reservoir development, river restoration, catchment management, SSSI assessment and coastal management.

Our focus for this role is to support our growing and varied project workload in the West of England and Wales and it is expected that frequent site attendance to support these projects will be required. About the Role

To support Binnies in our ambitions for our Ecology team, the role would involve:

· Working with the Binnies ecology management team to deliver high-quality ecological surveys and reporting, alongside supporting the development of more junior team members.

· Providing advice on survey requirements to clients and internal project management teams.

· Discussing proposed survey protocols and site-specific survey plans with internal project teams, including the writing of site and task specific risk assessments.

· Leading survey teams for specialisms you are qualified and/or licenced in, including the management and analysis of recorded data.

Qualifications/Requirements

The role is suitable for an Ecology professional with several years’ experience and working towards full membership of CIEEM or equivalent. You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:

Binnies, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Delivery Director to join our growing Water Services South team. We are looking for a passionate individual with strong commercial management skills and great leadership qualities. This delivery leader will oversee and grow a portfolio of projects in the South of England. This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for delivery performance, resource planning, strategic direction, and client relationship management. The role will report to the Water Services South Director within Binnies’ Water Services Business.

Our Water Services team works across the full project lifecycle, providing consultancy and engineering expertise to the regulated water industry. This role will be central to strengthening our project delivery capability, driving performance and nurturing trusted partnerships with our clients – as well as supporting expansion into new frameworks and emerging markets.

• We deliver surveys, inspections, condition assessments, diagnostics, asset-data capture and defect validation. We advise and support clients to improve maintenance, reliability and work management; we do not operate or maintain their assets.
• On the evidence side, we help water companies produce consistent, traceable information on condition, performance, failure, expenditure and repair, refurbishment and replacement activity for external regulators and internal decision-makers.

You will lead and grow Binnies' Asset Health Services capability: engineers, technicians, inspectors and asset management specialists delivering repeatable inspection, assessment and improvement consultancy at scale.

Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, you will own the Asset Health Services P&L, new-business growth, pipeline, revenue, margin, cash, utilisation and service performance.

About the Role

We are looking for candidates to work closely with other environmental and engineering disciplines to:

• Contribute to all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) including SEA, feasibility, screening/scoping, and Environmental Statement chapters
• Provide input into the range of other environmental and sustainability assessment and consenting applications such as WFD, HRA, planning, Development Consent Orders and Environmental Permits
• Assist with coordinating technical input from environmental specialists across Binnies, wider RSK family of businesses and our specialist supply chain
• Support construction stage delivery

• Provide input to bids and proposals.

Essential Requirements

The role is suitable for an Environmental professional with several years of relevant environmental assessment experience. You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:

• Be a member of IEMA, IES, CIWEM or another professional institute
• Be working towards Chartership
• A sound understanding of EIA
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Hold a full UK driving licence

• Experienced in extra high voltage to low voltage electrical distribution network designs, not limited to switchgears, transformers, motor control centres, distribution boards, control panels, emergency standby and black start power, neutral-ground reactors/resistors, cable and cable raceways, protection devices, meters, etc.
• Experienced in Power plant/WMF balance of plant electrical network design.
• Familiar with Singapore’s local codes of practice and regulatory requirements in extra high voltage/high voltage grid connection for electricity export.

This is a high-impact strategic leadership role, responsible for shaping estimating strategy, driving commercial excellence, and supporting the successful delivery of over 750 capital projects. You and your team will play a critical role in determining project value, performance, and risk—ensuring the right commercial outcomes for the business, our customers, and the environment.

Strategic Leadership

• Lead and evolve the estimating strategy in line with our goals for affordability, carbon reduction, and environmental performance
