Alan Knowles, Binnies Scotland Delivery Director, has been appointed to the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) Scotland Board of Directors.
CECA Scotland constitutes over 80% of the civil engineering contracting industry in Scotland, with members representing companies from many sectors and of all sizes. CECA members work across the road, rail, water and power sectors, delivering the infrastructure that businesses and communities rely on.
Alan is looking forward to working with other members of the board to support the industry in addressing the key challenges and opportunities within the sector. CECA Scotland’s five priorities for this year are health, safety and wellbeing; promoting infrastructure; procurement, contract conditions and payment; attracting, securing and training a diverse, world-class workforce; and assisting members in creating a net-zero society by 2045.
Alan continues: “I have always been highly motivated by the desire to ensure that our industry provides many opportunities for people to experience a rewarding career while delivering diverse, challenging and vital infrastructure projects around Scotland.
“These values have underpinned my own career at Binnies, and I am excited to be able to now support the industry on a wider scale.”
