Looking back on the successes achieved

Pride. That’s what amey–binnies’ Chief Operating Officer Richard Anderson feels when he looks back on the successes achieved over the last few years as part of the SR15 wastewater infrastructure programme.

The joint venture (JV) is about to complete its final project and Richard shares his thoughts in the most recent issue of Scottish Water’s CI Clann magazine.
Richard said: “We’ve delivered hundreds of projects and worked with a large supply chain across Scotland. Similarly, we’ve worked very closely with customers and have always been able to generate positive engagement.

“The aim has been to keep that spirit to the end and leave a lasting legacy. Ultimately, people don’t see the assets underground, but they do remember the impression you make.”

He believes that success is down to one key factor – amey–binnies people. “Within the JV onboarding and leadership are important, as is the trust we put in our people and the autonomy we give them,” he said.

The amey–binnies SR15 wastewater infrastructure alliance six-year programme:

  • Total programme value approximately £430 million
  • Approximately 300 projects delivered across Scotland
  • Typical project values – £100,000 to £24 million
  • Projects include new sewers, sewer repairs, storage tanks, overflow structures and pumping stations
  • Peak workforce of 246, plus supply chain partners, subcontractors, framework suppliers and specialists
