Developing cricket for ages 4 through to 17
For the first time Barrow junior cricket has accepted sponsorship that will enable the club to continue to grow and develop cricket for ages 4 through to 17. Binnies is pleased to commit to three years of sponsorship of the junior division of Barrow Cricket Club.
Binnies has a large office in Chester, just a few miles from the cricket club, and endeavours to support local communities with social value initiatives as part of its mission to enhance lives, communities and the environment.
The sponsorship is being driven by U9 coach Andries Bentley, who is also a project manager at Binnies, together with Head of Junior Cricket Jon Linford. Funds will help to upgrade the clubhouse to improve women’s facilities, to provide junior equipment and to contribute to the team’s kit to ensure the sport is accessible and enjoyable for all.
The season got off to a flying start for Barrow U9 cricket squad, with a high-scoring win against Warrington. There were also wins for the boys and girls of the U11 and U13 squads, with excellent signs of improvement with both bat and ball in hand as recent training continues to pay off.
