Combining asset management expertise with cutting-edge technology
In a new collaborative initiative with Canadian pipeline condition assessment solutions brand KenWave, Binnies is excited to announce the launch of its new service offering that will enable it to showcase KenWave’s Tonal Pipe Assessment™ (TPA) technology to the UK water market.
This exciting joint venture combines asset management expertise with cutting-edge technology that will enable us to introduce both existing and new clients to an innovative and detailed method of pipeline condition assessment.
Binnies was delighted to welcome the team from KenWave Solutions to the UK at the Water Research Centre (WRc), located in Swindon, England. Over the course of five days, the Binnies asset management team was able to get hands-on with the technology and test its high capabilities on the WRc practice rig located on-site.
Head of Network Services at Binnies UK, Stuart White, expressed his delight at welcoming KenWave to the country and to the Binnies brand:
KenWave’s TPA acoustic tool incorporates recognition technology and patented analytics to generate world-leading accuracy, providing non-invasive field survey condition assessments for pipes of any material or diameter. This provides detailed, reliable condition information for individual five-metre pipe segments with no service disruption or risk of damage, enabling scalable, data-driven maintenance and investment strategies.
Roberto Mascarenhas, Operations Director of KenWave Solutions, commented on the capabilities of TPA while on his visit to the UK with Binnies, stating: “The Tonal Pipe Assessment is a convenient, non-disruptive, non-intrusive method of collecting critical pipeline condition data across long lengths of pipelines and even pipe networks. It is low cost to implement and has minimum risk to asset owners and operators. The information it provides is critical for decision-making for risk managers, asset managers and even operators.”
