The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) Summer Conference is focused on “Financing the Future – Using Green Finance to Drive Nature’s Recovery.” The conference is being held online.

Binnies’ Fran Moore and Laure Hobbs will give an overview of their work supporting Nature North in developing four of their ‘investable concepts’, and insights from the nature finance and investment landscape. Nature North is a collaboration of organisations across the North of England working to drive climate resilience and green growth through nature recovery. Binnies has supported their strategic and collaborative approach to steer nature finance and investment to where it is needed most: the right habitat, in the right place, for the right outcome. This work has included extensive stakeholder engagement to progress three ‘investable propositions’, alongside work to understand investment mechanisms and scalable financial models for landscape-scale nature recovery. The work has helped Nature North to progress forward at pace in its vital work to direct investment to nature restoration in the North of England. Binnies will give a brief overview of learning and insights.

Binnies’ talk will be useful to anyone seeking to undertake a collaborative approach to nature recovery, specifically the aim to harness the nature finance and investment landscape. It will give a useful, but brief, overview of key insights from the nature finance world – corporate drivers, credit markets and stacking, blending in emerging scalable models – risks and opportunities going forward.
